Rare antique Nantucket painted fire bucket "PRINCE GARDNER, 1832". The fire bucket belonged to Prince Gardner (1782-1851)of Nantucket (full family history available). The painted decoration is original to 1832 but it appears that there is an earlier paint underneath (No. 3 P.G. with oval design and ribbons). It may have belonged to his father Prince Gardner (1743-1816).The handle appears to be an early replacement. Condition: Very good with scattered paint losses and some retouching. Size: 13.5 x 8.5 diameter. Sorry, SOLD
